Eye Care For Any Age At Every Stage

Vision plays an important role in a child’s physical, cognitive and social development. Undiagnosed vision problems can interfere with a child’s development, learning, athletic performance, and sometimes lead to permanent vision loss. Early diagnosis and intervention is critical to ensure children have the optimal visual tools to learn successfully and reach their full potential.

When Should Your Child Have An Eye Examination?

  • Age 6-12 months
  • Age 3 years
  • Annually for school-aged children

The Patient Experience

Examinations may need to be more frequent and are indicated when new symptoms occur, new vision problems or new risk factors are identified and for the management of chronic eye or visual conditions. Your eye doctor will recommend the appropriate follow-up intervals based on your child’s visual condition.

Routine eye exams help ensure that your child has all the visual tools needed to succeed.

Infant Eye Examinations

Outcomes are better when treatment for vision and eye health problems begins early. Thus, we are a provider for InfantSEE®,  a public health program, developed by the American Optometric Association, designed to ensure that eye and vision care is an essential part of infant wellness care.

Under this program, our pediatric eye care specialists provide a no-cost, comprehensive vision assessment for infants between 6 and 12 months of age, regardless of insurance coverage.

Pediatric Eye Examinations

Our pediatric eye examinations comprehensively evaluate your child’s visual functioning ensuring that every child is school-  ready and has all of the visual tools for academic success. We use techniques tailored to your child’s age and attention span to assess his or her:

  • Eyeglass or contact lens prescription
  • Depth perception
  • Eye teaming and focusing skills
  • Color vision
  • Peripheral vision
  • Eye health
